New Netflix Instant Streaming 12-26-11

I’ve got a few retro movies that I’ve been saving to make a full enough list for a post, and I think this is it. Be aware, several movies are going off streaming on New year’s Day, including Arabesque, the Pink Panther cartoons, Diner, The Man Who Knew Too Little, Enter the Dragon and Peter Seller’s The Prisoner of Zenda which is streaming only.
  • These Amazing Shadows: The Movies That Make America (2011) A documentary about the National Film Registry and includes commentary from Christopher Nolan, John Waters, Rob Reiner, Debbie Reynolds, Tim Roth and George Takei. I just saw it advertised on PBS today.
  • Fawlty Towers (1975-1979) Seasons one and two of this John Cleese sitcom/farce are streaming.
  • Alligator (1980) Who doesn’t remember this one? An alligator gets into the sewer and eats genetic experiments tossed into the sewer. Bad things happen. Has Robert Forester and Henry Silva, what more do you need?.
  • The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 (2011) A documentary on the Black Power movement.
