New Netflix Instant Streaming for December 1st, 2011

Already, after just doing one yesterday, there’s a few more streaming titles to highlight. Usually, most titles come out on Tuesday. However, there are two Jim Henson Christmas shows so I thought I’d go ahead and get this out.

  • The Christmas Toy (1986) A Jim Henson Christmas show. I’ve never seen it, but Henson is the master of the Muppets, so I figured it’s worth noting. Instant only.
  • Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas (1977) This one is probably better since it’s from the 70s. Another Jim Henson and has the help of Frank Oz. A great choice to watch with the kids. Instant only.
  • One from the Heart (1982) Now for something completely different, Francis Ford Coppola’s downer of a movie. Don’t watch if you’re prone to depression during the holidays. If you get the winter blues, stick with the Jug-Band.
  • Blue Sunshine (1978) Not into depressing without some gore? How about a movie about ex-hippies that took acid years ago that is now turning them into balding killers.
  • Magic Trip (2011) Speaking of acid, this is a documentary about the Ken Kesey/Merry Pranksters trip across the U.S. in a bus called Further. Stanley Tucci (I assume he narrates), Timothy Leary, Jack Kerouac, Ken Kesey, Allen Ginsberg, Jerry Garcia, The Grateful Dead, Neal Cassady, Ken Babbs, and Ram Dass. The book about the trip was called the The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Testwritten by Tom Wolfe. I’m really looking forward to watching this one.
  • Bond Girls Are Forever (2002) It’s about Bond girls, what more needs to be said? Instant only.
